I'm Carmen.

I make Spanish stick — the way your abuela would.

Carmen, native Mexican Spanish teacher

I was born and raised in Mexico. Spanish isn't a subject I studied — it's the language of my kitchen, my aunties, my telenovelas, my street. That's exactly how I teach it: as a living thing, not a table to memorize.

I teach the way I wish I'd been taught languages myself: context first, grammar last. Verb tables are the scaffolding, not the building. My students remember phrases because they lived through a scene with them — an argument at the market, a flirt in a taquería, a Sunday lunch with the in-laws. Emotion glues vocabulary. Drills don't.

I work with three kinds of students: people learning Spanish for love (a partner, in-laws, a whole new family), people who want to watch telenovelas and reels at full speed without subtitles, and travelers who want the local price at the taquería instead of the gringo menu. Different reasons, same method.
